- tasteful restoration with traditional materials in compliance with the Barcelona Charter of 2001:
- " ARTICLE 7. The process of restoration is a highly specialized operation. Its aim is to preserve and reveal the aesthetic, functional, and historic value of traditional ships and is based on respect for original material and authentic documents. The restoration in any case must be preceded and accompanied by a historical study of the ship.
- ARTICLE 8. The restoration of traditional ships will best be accomplished by means of traditional materials and techniques. Where traditional materials or techniques prove inadequate, the consolidation of traditional ships in operation can be achieved by the use of modern materials for conservation, the efficacy of which has been shown by scientific data and proved by experience.

- "creative woodworking". my medium of choice is wood
design
i hope to spend more time designing and also building my own visions of small craft which i design the traditional way: on paper, with battens, ducks and few calculations.
in the before mentioned department of creative woodworking, i design and build interiors for boats, either the entire cabin layout, a nifty, stowable salon table, a sea-worthy dish rack, etc.
and since, in this modern world, there are things you can get either at a big chain chandlery or not at all... i will also design hardware to fill a need that can't be satisfied with off the shelf products. I work with welders, casting companies, and blacksmiths to create custom hardware. i can cast bronze myself, or will make the pattern to pass on to an industrial outfit.
