other related stuff
- Student at the Arques School for Traditional Boatbuilding for traditional boat design
- bronze casting at the Arques School with Bob Darr, as well as the Small Boat Shop at Hyde St. Pier with Sam Johnson
- i also have a masters degree in Visual Communication and Publishing Media after spending 7 years in art school in Hamburg (the same one that the Beatle went to who left the band before fame and died young - i totally forgot his name)
education / skills
- i have experience in sailing with school kids of various backgrounds, they seemed to have been either 5th graders or high schoolers age 16-18. On occasion Rendezvous would take out groups of physically and mentally disabled kids and young adults. On Pegasus we also worked with youth at risk age 12 to 15 in an after school program.
- In terms of subjects we covered sailtraining, SF Bay and Pacific West Coast history, life on board history, navigation, knots, weather and water observation, nature and environmental education, and team building. For the adults on board we mostly just covered history and landmarks, wildlife, and the local beer selection.
- I also was a one weekend sailing teacher for high school kids on small dinghies for the Urban Pioneers in San Francisco.
- Other educational experience includes teaching Swing dancing to adults for over a year, supervising volunteers in boat building and restoration projects of the SF Maritime National Historic Park and conducting printmaking, graphic design, computer design application and photography workshops for adults.
- I am interested in the arts and creative writing and love the idea of combining my technical and sailing skills with ones of people who create.
